Amazon Smart Thermostat is the first-ever product launched by Amazon in the thermostat market. It is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, humidity sensors, scheduling, and location-based features like temperature control. All of that will only cost you $60.

Being one of the cheapest smart thermostats on the market, it doesn’t mean you can’t trust the product. Amazon has partnered with Resideo, the parent company of Honeywell Home, a popular thermostat brand, to come up with its own smart thermostat.

If this is your first time buying a thermostat, you might not know how to install one. You do have the option to hire Amazon Home Services or call a local HVAC technician to do the installation. But if you are willing to do it yourself, you can take the help of this article, which will guide you through the entire process – from installation to set up on the app.

Let’s get started.

Few Things to Keep in Mind while Installing Amazon Smart Thermostat

Since you are installing the Amazon Smart Thermostat for the first time, you have to keep a few things in mind before installing the thermostat.

  • Check if the thermostat is compatible with your HVAC system or not. You would never want an unsupported device in your home.
  • To check for compatibility, go to the compatibility checker by Amazon. It will tell you whether the thermostat supports your HVAC system or not.
  • Check if your home has a C-Wire or not. Most modern homes do have one. But if you don’t, you have to buy a C-Wire Power Adapter in order to run the thermostat.

How to Install Amazon Smart Thermostat

The installation process of the Amazon Smart Thermostat is quite easy and won’t take you more than an hour to complete. You just need a drill, a screwdriver, a pen or pencil, and a level.

Step 11: Now connect the thermostat with wires placing them gently in their respective positions. Make sure there are no loose connections or the Amazon Smart Thermostat won’t work.
